The Defense Mechanism central office in Capital Of Nigeria said yesterday that contrary to studies in the mass media that the five (5) Americans and two (2) Nigerians arrested by the Joint Undertaking Military Unit in Warri were scheduled to pay a visit to the Head of Defense Mechanism Staff, General Owoye Azazi, there is no record of any such as assignment with the Head of Defense Mechanism Staff.

In a statement signed by Lt. Col. J. A. Ajim, the Defense Mechanism central office said the revelation by one of the arrested Nigerians to that consequence was mischievious.

It reads, "The atention of the Defense Mechanism central office have been drawn to some deceptive business relationship of some aliens and their Nigerian spouses in the brooks of the Niger River River Delta by secret agents of the Joint Undertaking Military Unit in the Niger Delta".
